MEET ALLORA
WITH LOVE FROM BELIZE
NICE TO MEET YOU
I’m Allora. I’m physical therapist living and working in Belize, sharing honest stories about healthcare abroad, volunteering, budgeting on less, and rebuilding a life and career with intention.
More importantly, I’m someone who hit pause on a life that looked good on paper and didn’t feel good in my body. I walked away from a high-paying, predictable job in the U.S. because clinical work was quietly draining me. I had big goals and real ambition—but not enough mental space to actually reach them.
So I moved to Belize. Not to escape work, but to reset. To strip things back and figure out what I want my life and career to look like without constant noise, productivity pressure, or burnout running the show.
This blog is where I think out loud—with a little humor and zero sugarcoating. Alongside clinic lessons and life-abroad stories, you’ll find practical posts on volunteering here (logistics, costs, and what’s actually worth it), living on a much smaller budget, and all the things I wish someone had told me before I packed my bags. If you’re curious about building a life more intentionally—or just want the real version, not the Instagram one—you’re in the right place.
